Take good notes immediately after the interview. Write what you think went well and what you discussed. Use this information in your follow up letter or phone call.

When drafting a follow up letter make sure to include these points:

  • Thank the employer for the interview
  • Ask for clarification about anything you were unsure of from the interview
  • Offer to give references if you did not mention this previously
  • Decide if you should write or call the employer after the interview. This will demonstrate how committed and enthusiastic you are.
